The Department of Microbiology, Darshan Institute of Science, Darshan University, organized “Biothon 2026: Science-Driven Solutions for Viksit Bharat” as part of Frolic 2026, providing students with a dynamic platform to showcase scientific creativity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities. The competition brought together 25 participants forming 12 teams from various educational institutions, who presented biotechnology and life-science-based solutions to real-world challenges. Participants demonstrated their ability to transform academic knowledge into practical and solution-oriented ideas by explaining the identified problems, proposed solutions, scientific approaches, potential applications, and expected impact. Dr. Nidhi Saxena, Assistant Professor, Atmiya University, Rajkot, evaluated the teams based on innovation, scientific approach, feasibility, relevance, and presentation, while providing valuable expert feedback. The event fostered interdisciplinary learning, scientific communication, collaborative problem-solving, and research-oriented thinking, encouraging students to explore how biotechnology and life sciences can contribute to societal needs and the broader vision of Viksit Bharat.
