The Department of Civil Engineering, DIETDS, conducted a Survey on "Spot Speed and Traffic Volume" as a field-based learning activity for fifth-semester students. The activity aimed to provide students with practical knowledge of traffic engineering analysis techniques and help them apply classroom concepts to real-world road conditions. During the survey, 17 students observed traffic at a selected road location and recorded vehicle speeds and traffic volume using standard survey methods. The activity helped students understand the systematic collection of traffic data and its relevance to road and traffic planning. Coordinated by faculty members from the Civil Department, the survey provided students with direct exposure to traffic conditions and helped them understand basic traffic engineering principles and data-based transportation planning.
