The Department of Civil Engineering, DIET, organized a technical visit to the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium, Rajkot for first-year B.Tech Civil Engineering students. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the planning, design, and construction of modern sports infrastructure. During the visit, students explored key facilities, including the stadium seating area, pavilion, media box, auditorium, practice ground, and in-house gymnasium. They observed important civil engineering components like cement concrete (RCC) and steel structural systems, drainage networks, utility services, and circulation planning. The visit helped students understand project execution and infrastructure management while connecting their classroom learning with real-world construction practices and the role of civil engineers in developing large-scale public facilities.
