Expert talk on "Career Awareness talk for Civil Engineers"

The Civil Engineering Department of Darshan University organised an expert-led Career Awareness Programme to provide students with comprehensive insights into the diverse professional pathways available within Civil Engineering and the evolving construction and infrastructure sector. The session, delivered by Prof. M. D. Barasara, explored career opportunities in structural, geotechnical, transportation, and environmental engineering, construction management, surveying, urban planning, and emerging technologies in the built environment. It also addressed avenues for higher education and competitive examinations, including GATE, GPSC, UPSC, and SSC, alongside opportunities in government organisations, public sector undertakings, private companies, consulting firms, and entrepreneurship. Emphasis was placed on technical competence, practical skills, digital proficiency, communication abilities, internships, professional certifications, and lifelong learning. Through interactive discussions and career guidance, the programme enabled 150 students to develop greater career awareness, set professional goals, and prepare for responsible and successful careers in Civil Engineering.
