The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology, organized an Industry-Oriented Enrichment Program on Automobile Systems, Service Engineering and Manufacturing Technology to provide students with practical exposure to contemporary automotive engineering and industrial practices. The four-day programme integrated expert sessions, hands-on demonstrations, workshop visits, and industrial exposure, enabling participants to explore modern automobile systems, vehicle servicing, diagnostic techniques, manufacturing processes, and quality control practices. Students gained valuable insights into spark-ignition and compression-ignition engines, preventive maintenance, engine troubleshooting, electrical and electronic diagnostics, workshop management, and tractor manufacturing through interactions with experienced industry professionals. Visits to leading automotive service centers and manufacturing facilities further strengthened their understanding of real-world engineering applications and operational practices. With the participation of 27 Mechanical Engineering students, the programme successfully enhanced technical competencies, industrial awareness, and employability while reinforcing the importance of experiential learning and fostering stronger collaboration between academia and industry.
