The National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC), DU, organized the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” tree plantation drive to promote environmental sustainability while encouraging participants to honor their mothers through the symbolic act of planting and nurturing trees. The university-level initiative witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 73 NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, and students from various departments. During the drive, participants planted more than 400 native, medicinal, and shade-giving saplings across the university campus. They actively took part in site preparation, plantation, watering, and post-plantation care, while taking a pledge to protect and nurture the trees. The initiative promoted environmental awareness, biodiversity conservation, and responsible climate action. It also reflected the university’s commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and creating a greener and healthier campus environment.
