The Department of Civil Engineering, DIET, organized an online expert talk on "Geotechnical Engineering" for fourth- and sixth-semester B.Tech Civil Engineering students. The session was conducted by Prof. Trudeep Dave, Associate Professor at the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management (IITRAM). During the session, students gained a comprehensive understanding of fundamental geotechnical engineering concepts, including soil mechanics, bearing capacity, foundation design, and site investigation techniques. Prof. Dave explained the practical applications of these concepts through real-life case studies and discussed current trends in the construction industry. The session helped students connect theoretical knowledge with professional practice, enhanced their understanding of soil-structure interaction, and encouraged them to adopt innovative and sustainable approaches to civil engineering.
