Darshan University recently hosted an engaging Chess competition as part of the Faculty Sprint 2026 initiative, organized by the Sports & Fitness Wing of the Student Activity Centre. This event aimed to provide a dedicated platform for faculty members to demonstrate their strategic thinking, concentration, and competitive spirit through the intellectual challenge of chess. The competition successfully fostered a sense of camaraderie and strengthened the university’s sports culture by encouraging active participation in high-level gaming among staff. With six faculty members representing various departments, the matches highlighted both strong sportsmanship and exceptional analytical capabilities. Following intense gameplay, the tournament concluded with Mr. Jigar K. Pandya from the Diploma Department securing the winner position, while Mr. Maulik A. Joshi from the Civil Department was recognized as the runner-up. This initiative effectively underscored the university's commitment to promoting holistic development and intellectual engagement beyond traditional academic pursuits.
