Empowering Women and Girls in Science and Innovation

On February 11, 2026, the Department of Microbiology at Darshan Institute of Science, Darshan University, hosted a seminar titled "Empowering Women and Girls in Science and Innovation" to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Organized by Ms. Jahnvi S. Padhiar and Dr. Amishi R. Bhatt, the institutional event aimed to raise awareness regarding the significant contributions of women to research and discovery. During the session, thirty-three students explored the challenges and triumphs of renowned female scientists across various disciplines, including biotechnology, medicine, and space science. Seven participants delivered presentations that highlighted the importance of gender equality and motivated their peers to pursue innovation-oriented careers. This successful program not only fostered an appreciation for scientific history but also enhanced students' communication skills. Ultimately, the event served as an inspiring platform to encourage the next generation of researchers and scientific entrepreneurs.
