The Department of Mechanical Engineering has inaugurated the “DIET-ASME Student Section” at the Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology. The objective behind the setting up the section is to provide a global opportunity for collaborative work, enrichment of technical skill and professional development of students.

The ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) is founded in 1880, at present there are more than 100,000 members in 140+ countries. 32000 of these members are students.

The program was graced by presences of Dr. R. G. Dhamsaniya (Chairman & Principal – DIET), Prof. M.V. Sanghani (Principal – DIETDS), Dr. S. B. Jadeja (ASME- Asia-Pacific Regional Chair) Dr. A. J. Makdia, Mr. Bhavin Vegda (Head of Department), Dr. Gopi Sanghani (Head- Computer Engineering Department), Faculty members and students. The program was started with the lighting of the lamp and the blessing of gods. Mr. Priynak Pandya (Chairman – DIET-ASME Student Section) has welcomed the guest. Dr. R. G. Dhamsaniya sir has appreciated the efforts given by the students for the establishment of the student section.  Dr. S. B. Jadeja has guided the students for different opportunities available with ASME at the International level. He has given information about various events like HPVC, SDC, paper presentation and webinars organized by ASME. The section’s various post allotted to students as per follow:

• Web Master     - Mahek Parmar
• Member Head - Harnish Vyas
• Public Head      - Brijesh Jethva
