Seminar on "Role of Ethics in Civil Engineering: An Insight"

The Department of Civil Engineering (DIET), in collaboration with The Institution of Engineers (India) Saurashtra Local Chapter, convened a seminar titled "Role of Ethics in Civil Engineering: An Insight". The event underscored the fundamental importance of moral integrity and professional responsibility in the engineering discipline. Distinguished speakers, including Mr. Nilesh Suchdev and Mr. Dhirendra Kalaria, enriched the discourse by connecting ethical decision-making to public safety, environmental protection, and sustainable development. The session featured a retrospective on the life of Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Visvesvaraya, illustrating how ethical excellence is intrinsic to engineering success. Through real-world examples and personal narratives, the speakers demonstrated that technical competence must be complemented by a strong ethical framework. The seminar successfully motivated students to adopt ethics as a guiding principle, ensuring their future professional conduct upholds the dignity and trust associated with the civil engineering vocation.
Who we are?
