Industrial Visit to Darshan Steel Infrastructure

The Department of Civil Engineering (DIET) organized an industrial visit to Darshan Steel Infrastructure to provide students with practical exposure to the Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) sector. The visit covered the complete lifecycle of steel structures, from planning and design to fabrication and erection. Students observed the installation of key structural components such as purlins, trusses, and columns, gaining insight into load transfer mechanisms and connection detailing. Industry experts explained improvements in design efficiency by comparing older and newer structural plans, highlighting recent advancements. The session also introduced various steel sections, bolting methods, and corrosion-protection techniques, offering a clear understanding of modern construction practices. The visit strengthened students’ understanding of structural steel engineering by effectively bridging theory with real-world industrial applications and quality control.
