Field Visit to Construction Site at B. T. Savani Kidney Hospital

The Department of Civil Engineering (DIET) organized a field visit to construction site at the B. T. Savani Kidney Hospital, involving forty-two third-semester B.Tech students. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world construction practices. Guided by industry professionals, students observed advanced construction techniques such as Mivan formwork, waterproofing methods, and detailed reinforcement work for retaining walls. They also gained hands-on exposure to modern precision tools, including auto-level laser machines, enhancing their understanding of site management and quality control. The visit reinforced industry–academia collaboration and provided valuable insights into the execution of large-scale healthcare infrastructure projects and practical civil engineering applications.
