Faculty Development Program on FEAST FEA Software & Robotics
07 Mar 2026
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Darshan University successfully organized a two-day Faculty Development Program on “FEAST FEA Software and Robotics” on 25–26 February 2026. The program aimed to provide faculty members with practical exposure to finite element method (FEM) based analysis and applied robotics technologies.
On the first day, participants received hands-on training on FEAST FEM Software, focusing on structural, vibration, and thermal analysis. The session was conducted by Raj Thilak, Scientist/Engineer ‘SG’ at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre under Indian Space Research Organisation, who shared valuable insights into simulation-based engineering and its applications in solving real-world mechanical problems.
The second day focused on applied robotics, featuring expert sessions by professionals from SVR Robotics. Vinod Atpadkar, Director and CEO, delivered a comprehensive session on robotics concepts, followed by hands-on training on Robo Analyzer software conducted by Subhasmita Swain. The program concluded with a laboratory-based practical session led by Swarag Baad, providing participants with real-time exposure to robotic system operations and control.
A total of 24 faculty members from Darshan University and other institutes participated in the program. The FDP helped participants strengthen their understanding of simulation-driven engineering and robotics, enabling them to enhance their teaching and research capabilities.
