Expert Lecture on Industrial Automation, PLC and SCADA Systems

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Darshan University, organized an expert lecture on Industrial Automation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and SCADA Systems for 4th and 6th Semester Diploma Electrical Engineering students in collaboration with Sofcon India Pvt. Ltd.. The session was delivered by experienced industry professionals. During the lecture, students gained in-depth knowledge of Industrial Automation concepts, including modern automation practices, industrial control strategies, and real-time applications in various industries. The experts further explained the working principles of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), covering hardware components, input-output modules, ladder logic programming, troubleshooting methods, and essential industrial safety practices. Additionally, students were introduced to the fundamentals and architecture of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, including data acquisition, remote monitoring, communication protocols, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and real-time control applications, thereby strengthening their understanding of advanced automation technologies and their practical industrial implementation.
