On 14th August 2025, Darshan University joyously celebrated the Matki Fod event at A block garden to celebrate Janmashtami. The campus was abuzz with excitement as five enthusiastic teams participated, each eager to showcase their strength, agility, and teamwork. Students formed intricate human pyramids, aiming to break the matki suspended high above the ground - a traditional challenge that tested both courage and coordination.
The event highlighted not only physical prowess but also strategic planning and collaboration. Cheerful crowds created a lively atmosphere filled with excitement. Teams carefully timed their moves, balancing skill and safety, while judges closely evaluated their performance on coordination, precision, and technique. In the Matki Fod competition, the winning team was awarded a cash prize of ₹3000 for their outstanding performance.
At the end of the event, also included a melodious flute performance by a student, which added a devotional touch to the celebration then the students played Garba with great enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed the celebration. It concluded with joyful memories and a stronger bond with heritage.
Who we are?
Darshan University - having the foundation of its first Institution laid in 2009, and later on, established and consolidated under Gujarat Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act of 2021. It is one of the leading institutes within Saurashtra that offers Diploma, UG, PG and Doctoral Courses.
