Bituminous Re-Carpeting and Thickness Designing Survey Work at Ward No. 8

The Civil Engineering Department of Darshan University successfully completed consultancy work assigned by the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC), involving bituminous re-carpeting thickness design for the stretch from Kalawad Road underbridge to KKV Chowk (Ward No. 8). The work included traffic survey, core cutting, pavement condition survey, trial pit study, and Benkelman Beam deflection study. The project was carried out by the dedicated faculty members of Darshan University with active involvement of Degree and Diploma Civil Engineering students under the “Earn While You Learn” program. Through this initiative, students gained valuable on-site exposure and practical learning experience while assisting in real consultancy work. This achievement reflects Darshan University’s strong technical capabilities and its continuous commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry through hands-on engagement and applied learning.
