Industrial visit of BSNL exchange (Rajkot) which was arranged by Department of Electronics and Communication at DIET. Visit was arranged on 4th April 2016 for 6th and 8th sem students. Division wise visit was scheduled in four slot, Where student visited Transmission Division, Broadband Division, Switching Division and MSC Division. The purpose of visit was to explore and gain knowledge about Wireless communication and Optical Communication system.

Industrial visit to Indian Coast Guard at Porbandar

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) protects India's maritime interests and enforces maritime law, with jurisdiction over the territorial waters of India. After getting permission from ICG for 27th feburary, our visit was schedule for 1 day. In that we visited ship named VIJIT during 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, where we were nicely guided by their officers. Then from 2:30 to 4:30 pm we visited air base of ICG, where we have close look of Dornier maritime surveillance aircraft and Chetak utility helicopters.

The Sikka Thermal Power Station is located near Jamnagar. It is Coal Based Power Station. There are two units of 120 MW each with a total installed capacity of 240 MW. All the above units are of BHEL make. Commissioning dates of unit no. 1 and 2 are 26.03.1988 and 31.03.1993 respectively.
